Balaguer, with a population of 16952 inhabitants, is located in the province of Lleida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, with two languages equally recognized as official (Spanish and Catalan) that are used equally and interchangeably. Agriculture and the service sector are the main activities of the area. It is surrounded by the Segre River, which makes Balaguer one of the prettiest cities of the area.
